Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's dad came from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sister is Uria. Ryder and her family moved to Mendocino County in California in the year 2000, when Ryder was only seven years old. There, they didn't have electricity. The books on television was her only source of entertainment for her time, and she was a voracious reader. Ryder was 12 when she enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Lucas the film, which was released in 1986 which was her first big part. Ryder was just fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her bullying was going to be corrected. It didn't turn out. But she pushed on with her dreams. Her breakthrough came through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder had a successful role in various films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running two times for Academy Awards.
